Here's what is coming up in MWTM
Our resident technical and operations expert (not to mention her marketing savvy), Grace has been out on maternity leave since the late July birth of a beautiful baby girl. Those of us at DM360, and our clients, are definitely ready for her return in September!
We have some exciting plans for upcoming issues this month which I want to share with you:
• A series of articles titled, “Pull Back the Curtain” where each of the Masters will give you a behind-the-scenes look at our individual companies and what we do for our clients. We’ll get started with a look at Madron Marketing and DM360 and follow with Advantage Internet Marketing, Macromark, TeleDirect Partners and Craftsman. You can expect these articles to be extremely insightful and helpful to you as you’re building a successful direct marketing business.
• How to Get Started in Space Advertising – brought to you by Dave Klein, the resident expert at Macromark. Space advertising has always been known as a terrific complement to direct mail. In this article Dave will tell you why you should consider starting your direct marketing program with space as your first test marketplace.
• Catch Onto the Newest Trend in Email Marketing - Video embedded in your email broadcasts has taken off in the email marketing world. Sell the same products with similar marketing content, but “wow” your readers with video. We’ll give you samples…tell you stories of companies we know who are using video with tremendous success…and show you how easy it is for you to capitalize on this important trend.
In addition, we’re looking for your input and ideas so we can be sure you’re getting the most out of your Marketing with the Masters subscription. Please contact us at info@marketingwiththemasters.com today with your ideas or questions.
Here’s to your continued success.
Sincerely,
Stacy Berver

Nine Supplement Industry Resources You Don't Want to Miss
Keeping you ahead of the curve is our job at Marketing with the Masters.
With any new business launch, there are ropes that must be learned…start-up costs…and your precious investment of time and energy.
But as is true so often in business, it’s not what you know…it’s who you know that’s most important.
By taking advantage of our free resource – the Marketing with the Masters e-letter – you’ve taken a significant first step toward building the critical relationships you’ll need to help your business survive and thrive.
My colleagues and I would like to help you – no matter if you’re new to the supplement marketing market or a seasoned veteran – by sharing a brief list of our favorite free resources…nine of the most valuable resources available to you as a supplement marketer.
So let’s get started…
Stay Current With Industry News and Trends
It’s not only your job as a supplement marketer to provide a quality product to your customers – and turn a profit – it’s also important that you’re a responsible member of the supplement marketing community.
And the only way to be sure that you’re on top of what’s happening in the industry is to make sure you’re plugged in to as many news sources as possible. (After all…would a stockbroker be able to effectively help his clients if he didn’t stay on top of news from the equity markets?)
Here are a handful of industry news sources you should make sure you’re reading…
* Nutritional Outlook – This monthly publication is known as the manufacturer’s resource for dietary supplements & healthy foods and beverages. The magazine’s web site also features an “Ask the Experts” section, where you can tap into the knowledge of some of the industry’s most successful professionals. (check out two of your favorite MWTM experts in August and September – http://no.canon-experts.com/ )
* Vitamin Retailer – Also published monthly, Vitamin Retailer bills itself as the dietary supplement industry’s leading magazine…and the publication strives to foster industry growth and help preserve the rights of dietary supplement suppliers and retailers.
* Nutraceuticals World – Published 10 times per year, Nutraceuticals World covers market and technology developments, dissects regulatory issues and provides international perspectives unique to the supplement, food and beverage market.
* Nutrition Business Journal – This is a monthly executive journal focusing primarily on the nutrition industry. The publication regularly discusses business activities, market size/growth, trends, and opportunities in the nutrition industry.
* Natural Products Insider –NPI describes itself as a leading print, online and e-mail resource for marketers, manufacturers and formulators of dietary supplements, healthy foods and cosmeceuticals.
Once you’ve taken the time to get plugged in to the essential sources of industry information, you may next want to consider joining forces with an industry group that will help look out for your best interests as you grow your business.
One such group is the Natural Products Association – the nation’s largest and oldest non-profit organization dedicated to the natural products industry.
The Natural Products Association represents more than 10,000 retailers, manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors of natural products, including foods, dietary supplements, and health/beauty aids.
Finally for today, I’d urge you to consider meeting some of your new industry colleagues face-to-face at an industry trade show.
By simply walking the exhibit floor – and listening in on a handful of presentations – you can learn a tremendous amount about where the industry is headed…and you can learn about the potential obstacles other business owners like you have overcome.
In addition, you’ll make important contacts that might soon turn into powerful business opportunities.
Natural Products Expo East is coming up October 13-16 in Boston and provides you with the opportunity to meet with thousands of colleagues…and discover hundreds of new products. (By the way, Stacy and I will be attending and would be happy to meet you!)
On November 6-7 – in Long Beach, California – Vitamin Retailer’s Health and Nutrition Show provides yet another opportunity for retailers and manufacturers of dietary supplements and natural health products to get together.
And next March – in Anaheim, California – Natural Products Expo West will bring together approximately 56,000 industry professionals for the largest event of its kind.
So – now that you’ve been introduced to some of the supplement marketing industry’s most valuable resources…it’s time for you to get started.
I urge you to take advantage of the industry’s many FREE resources – and get connected as quickly as possible so you can follow the latest industry news and developments.
